BUS FALLS INTO GORGE in UTTARAKHAND

The fall of 250 meter gorge led to the death of 16 innocent lives several got injured in Uttarakhand, India. The Uttarakhand Transport Corporation bus skidded down from Rishikesh-Gangotri Highway to the gorge near Suryadhar. Soon after the local administration and police rushed to the spot. there were 25 people on-board.

The state government has directed helicopters to be made available to bring the injured to AIIMS. It has also announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh each to families of the deceased. The injured will also be given Rs 50,000 as compensation. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
